Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the date for the release of the instalment of the Maawan Dhiyaan Satkar Yojana. Three months' worth of Satkar money will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of every eligible woman in the state on July 1.
Under the scheme, women from the Scheduled Castes will receive Rs 4,500 while women from other categories will receive Rs 3,000 on July 1.
The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing a 'Lok Milni' (public interaction) after inaugurating various development projects in the village Chanarthal Kalan, Fatehgarh Sahib.
He said the assistance would continue as long as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is in power in Punjab. Mann said this financial assistance will not make women rich, but will certainly provide them with dignity, self-respect, and self-confidence.
"On July 1, women beneficiaries will receive notifications on their mobile phones informing them about the financial assistance being credited to their accounts," he said.
Women in SC category will get Rs 1500
The Chief Minister said that on July 1, female beneficiaries in the state over the age of 18 will receive notifications on their mobile phones informing them of the financial assistance being deposited into their accounts. General category women will receive 1,000 per month, while Scheduled Caste women will receive 1,500 per month.
Women who already receive social security pensions will also be eligible under this scheme. Approximately 97% of women in the state are expected to benefit, and the Punjab government has made a budgetary provision of Rs 9,300 crore.
Certain categories of women, including regular or retired employees of the central government or any other state/UT government in the country, MLAs or MPs or the spouse of a serving minister, MP or MLA, are excluded from this scheme.
