A senior constable lost his life during a police operation in Mansoorpur village of Punjab’s Mukerian district. The operation was conducted by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team following intelligence about illegal weapons in the location.
According to DSP Mukerian Vipin Kumar, the raid targeted Mansoorpur village, where gangster Rana opened fire on the police. The bullet struck Senior Constable Amritpal Singh, who was swiftly transported to a private hospital in Mukerian for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In response to the violent encounter, authorities have deployed a heavy police force in Mansoorpur village, effectively transforming it into a police cantonment. However, there is no official confirmation yet regarding the apprehension of the gangster.

In another incident, two policemen were injured in Punjab’s Gurdaspur after a major disturbance erupted at the Central Jail, where several inmates and detainees went out of police control and climbed onto the roof of the prison on Wednesday.
