Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi alleged on Friday that the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) is planning a raid on him following his 'Chakravyuh' speech in Parliament on July 29. Gandhi claimed that ED insiders informed him of the planned raid, and said he was 'waiting with open arms'.

In a post on X, Gandhi stated, "Apparently, 2 in 1 didn't like my Chakravyuh speech. ED 'insiders' tell me a raid is being planned. Waiting with open arms, @dir_ed. Chai and biscuits on me."

This follows Gandhi's sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech on the Union Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha on July 29. Gandhi claimed that farmers, workers, and youngsters are terrified under the current government and accused PM Modi of creating a modern 'Chakravyuh.'

Gandhi compared the current political scenario to the 'Chakravyuh' from the epic Mahabharata, stating that a new 'Chakravyuh' has been formed in the 21st century in the shape of a lotus, which is the BJP's symbol.

"Thousands of years ago, in Kurukshetra, six people trapped Abhimanyu in a 'Chakravyuh' and killed him. I did a little research and found out that 'Chakravyuh' is also known as 'Padmavuyh' - which means 'Lotus formation'. Chakravyuh' is in the shape of a Lotus. In the 21st century, a new 'Chakravyuh' has been formed - that too in the form of a Lotus. The Prime Minister wears its symbol on his chest.

Gandhi drew a parallel between the ancient 'Chakravyuh' formation and current political dynamics, alleging that six individuals control India today: Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat, Ajit Doval, Ambani, and Adani. He said, "What was done with Abhimanyu is being done with India - the youth, farmers, women, small and medium businesses."

The Congress MP further slammed the Budget 2024, saying it ‘stabs middle class in the back’, who once supported PM Modi by banging thalis during the pandemic.

In response, BJP MP Anurag Thakur mocked Gandhi's remarks, labeling him an "accidental Hindu" with limited knowledge of the Mahabharata. Thakur listed what he called the seven 'Chakravyuhs' created by Congress, including the partition of the country.

Prime Minister Modi praised Thakur's speech, describing it as a "perfect mix of facts and humour," and posted on X, urging people to listen to Thakur’s address.
