NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday slammed the government over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy, demanding the immediate removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Taking to social media, the Congress leader alleged that the issue has affected lakhs of students, while also questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the matter.

'22 Lakh Kids Have Been Cheated': Rahul Gandhi

Raising deep concerns over the future of lakhs of students, Gandhi alleged that the examination paper was leaked and circulated before the test.

In a video message, the Congress MP said, "For two years, 22 lakh NEET students worked tirelessly day and night, and their hard work has been ruined. The entire country knows that the NEET paper was being circulated on WhatsApp two days before the exam."

Gandhi further alleged that the recommendations made by a committee on examination reforms were repeatedly ignored by the Education Ministry.

"Dharmendra Pradhan ji, who is India’s Education Minister, says he has nothing to do with it. The committee had given recommendations, but he threw them into the dustbin, saying the committee members belonged to the Opposition and that their suggestions were meaningless," he claimed.

The Congress leader targeted the BJP and RSS, claiming that the political influence had weakened the country's higher education system. He further alleged that appointments in universities are now based on ideology instead of merit.

He further stated, "The truth is that you have damaged the very core of India’s education system. There is a nexus between the RSS, the BJP, and the people they have placed in universities, vice chancellors and professors. It is a nexus built to make money, and it has destroyed India’s education system."

Gandhi Demands Dharmendra Pradhan's Removal

Gandhi demanded accountability from the Centre over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. He sought the resignation or immediate removal of Dharmendra Pradhan.

"This is the reason why papers have leaked 80 times in this country, and the future of crores of young people has been destroyed. The Prime Minister should immediately order that Dharmendra Pradhan resign or be sacked, and all those found guilty should be arrested and sent to jail," Gandhi said.
