Railway News: The railway on Friday stated that 47 trains to Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab will remain cancelled on Saturday due to the continuous rainfall. While providing details, the authority stated that several key trains, including New Delhi-Jammu Rajdhani, and New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat will remain cancelled due to the poor weather conditions. The heavy rainfall for the past few days has severely affected the train operations in these states, leading to inconveniences to the passengers of several states, including Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. The railway has advised the passengers to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
The authority, while providing details, stated that trains including New Delhi-Jammu Rajdhani, Shalimar Malani Express, Dhanbad-Jammu Tawi Express, Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express, Pune-Jammu Tawi Express, Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Udhampur AC Express, New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express, Shri Shakti Express, Uttar Sampark Kranti Express, and Malwa Express will not operate on Saturday.
While providing details, Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay stated that the train services will remain disrupted as the railway track has been damaged between Kathua and Madhopur. He further stated that the maintenance work is ongoing to restore the services, further advising the passengers to follow the guidelines.
At least three people died due to a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district in the early hours of Saturday. The officials stated that at least two people are missing in the Rajgad area, adding that a rescue operation is underway to trace them. "Three people have died due to heavy rains and flash floods in the Rajgad area of Ramban. Two people are reported missing, and a rescue operation is going on," the District Administration was quoted as saying by ANI.
