A disturbing video from Kota in Rajasthan has caused public anger after it showed a man violently attacking his own mother. The video, which quickly spread on social media, shows the man, Deepu Mehra, forcing his way into his mother’s house and beating her with kicks and slippers, even as children in the house cried out.

The incident happened on July 20 at Om Green Meadows Apartment in the Anantapura police station area. The victim, 65-year-old Santosh Bai, was attacked by her son. CCTV and mobile phone videos captured Mehra breaking the gate to enter the house before the assault.

The attack is believed to be linked to a family dispute. In her complaint, Santosh Bai also said that her son hit her husband during the same incident.

Even after Santosh Bai fell to the ground, Mehra kept hitting her. Family members recorded the assault and gave the video to the police. Based on this evidence, Anantapura police arrested Mehra.

The accused was brought before a court, which sent him to judicial custody. However, he was later granted bail. According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Uday Singh, a case has been filed against Mehra under several legal sections, including charges of trespassing and assault.

In a separate incident, On Tuesday, July 22, a man attending a family court hearing over a divorce petition in Saundatti, Belagavi district, Karnataka, attacked his estranged wife and mother-in-law with a machete. The accused, Muttappa Ganachari from Savatagi village in Bailhongal taluk, had married a woman from Karikatti village in Saundatti taluk. 

Due to ongoing domestic disputes, the couple had been living separately and had filed for divorce. The violent incident took place after the court hearing, when Muttappa suddenly attacked his wife from behind and also injured her mother.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was first taken to the Saundatti Government Hospital. She was later shifted to KMCRI Hospital in Hubballi for advanced treatment. The Saundatti Police have arrested Muttappa and taken him into custody following the assault.
