Alwar News: Police recovered the body of a man from a blue drum on the first floor of his rented home in Adarsh Colony, Tijara district, on Sunday. The victim, identified as Hansraj, had been living in the house for about six weeks with his wife and three children, who are now missing.
The landlord, an elderly woman, first noticed a strong foul smell while visiting the first floor. She returned later and immediately informed the authorities. A large stone had been placed over the drum, possibly to contain the odour.
According to a NDTV report, Police reached the scene and carefully removed the lid. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said, “A report of a foul smell led our team to the house. The body of a young man was found in a blue drum. He has been identified as Hansraj alias Suraj.”
Hansraj worked at a brick kiln in Kishangarh Bas. A forensic team has been called to collect evidence, while police continue to investigate the cause of death. Efforts are ongoing to locate Hansraj’s wife and children, and officials are contacting his relatives for more information.
At present, no suspects have been confirmed, and the investigation remains active.
The incident has drawn comparisons to a similar case in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a man’s body was discovered in a blue drum in a residential area, attracting widespread attention. Police investigations revealed that the body had been concealed in the drum, prompting a detailed probe to determine the circumstances and identify the perpetrators.
