The pre-monsoon phase has already begun, bringing some relief from the scorching heat. A circulation system combined with a western disturbance has triggered light rainfall, thunder, and gusty winds in parts of Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Kota, Jaipur, and Bharatpur on Saturday. These weather conditions are expected to continue and intensify in the coming days.
According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to drop by 3–4degrees C over the next 48 hours. Pali district recorded the sharpest dip on Saturday, with a fall of up to 7degrees C. This brings temporary respite from the heatwave conditions.
However, extreme heat is still gripping parts of the state. Sri Ganganagar and Churu recorded the highest temperatures at 46.5degrees C, while Phalodi and Bikaner registered the lowest night temperatures at 34.2degrees C. In Sri Ganganagar, light rain on Saturday evening helped ease the discomfort caused by persistent heat.
