Krishna Mohan has been assigned additional responsibilities as the interim General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, according to Treasurer Govind Giri. The decision comes amid a key meeting of the trust held in Ayodhya, which discussed allegations related to irregularities in donations and the alleged misappropriation of funds and offerings made by devotees.

Officials said the administrative change is part of ongoing internal arrangements within the trust. 

Krishna Mohan was also the first to lodge an FIR in the alleged donation theft case on June 25.

Following the announcement, Krishna Mohan said, "Anyone found guilty in this matter, we will insist and remain firm in our insistence that they receive appropriate punishment in accordance with justice."

"I have been entrusted with the responsibility of discharging the duties of General Secretary in an acting capacity until a new General Secretary is appointed."

"We are all deeply pained by the events that have transpired; everyone has suffered, including the devotees of Ram. There were certain shortcomings in management and operations that were exploited by others. Therefore, my primary endeavour will be to plug these loopholes and rectify errors. I will make every effort to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. The prevailing atmosphere has somewhat tarnished the image of our trust, giving rise to a sense of mistrust within society. We will take all necessary steps to dispel this negative perception and rebuild trust within the community..."

Moreover, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra, both of whom stepped down following the controversy surrounding alleged misappropriation of temple donations.

Addressing a press conference, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj, Treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said: 'Those who once fired upon Kar Sevaks and who submitted written statements to the Supreme Court claiming that Lord Ram never existed and that the Ram Setu was never built are now attempting to lecture us on devotion to Ram.' The sudden, performative surge of devotion to Ram among those who have historically opposed it is no ordinary phenomenon; it is extraordinary, driven by ulterior motives that the entire Hindu society must recognise. Their primary objective is to divide us and create a rift within our devotion to Ram. We, however, reaffirm our resolve to uphold and strengthen this devotion and will not allow any division to take root in our society."

He also confirmed that the trust’s next meeting is scheduled for July 22.

"We anticipate that the SIT’s final report will be available to us by that time; we are meeting on the 22nd to deliberate on that report and to appoint additional trustees. We wish to state unequivocally that theft is theft, and the SIT is currently investigating the matter; that is the administration's responsibility. We, too, strongly urge that the perpetrators be apprehended, including any accomplices who may still be in hiding, and that they receive the punishment they deserve for their crime; we are firm on this point."
