Jagran Correspondent, Ayodhya | The Ram temple donation theft accused had big dreams to achieve their financial goals. The ongoing probe into the matter found that they had invested donated money in the stock market and also lent funds at interest.

Police are interrogating the accused, who are on remand in the district jail, for stealing offerings from the temples of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya. The remand of three accused, Anukul, Luvkush, and Karunesh, will expire at 10 pm tonight.

Relatives' Bank Accounts Used

During interrogation, the accused told police that they invested money in the stock market. To avoid suspicion, they used to transfer money from the accounts of their relatives and acquaintances. The police froze the bank accounts of the accused and their relatives, in which suspicious transactions exceeding their income were found.

Police initially took Anukul, Luvkush, and Karunesh to Luvkush's home. Subsequently, they were taken to various locations within Ayodhya. No cash was reportedly recovered during the three's custody, but sources indicate that a relative of Anukul returned Rs 20,000.

Chats Recovered From The Accused's Phones

Chats recovered from the accused's mobile phones also reveal disputes over financial division and share. Police are still detaining Anukul's father, Ravindra Mishra, and uncle, Ramendra Mishra, along with jewellery trader Vijay Kaushal, who is accused of melting the ornaments stolen by Anukul.

Anukul and Avinash, the main accused in the Ayodhya Ram Temple donation theft case, reportedly admitted during police interrogation that they had invested the stolen money in the stock market. Both invested the money stolen from the temple in the stock market. They also lent the stolen money to others at high interest rates. The police team took the accused on remand and searched and investigated their homes.
