Darshan Fan Murder Case: A Bengaluru court on Saturday extended the police custody of popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his girlfriend and actress Pavithra Gowda, and 11 other accused till June 20 in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan, known as the "Challenging Star" among his fans, was arrested by the Bengaluru Police on June 11 after his purported cover-up of Renuka Swamy's murder was exposed in the investigation.
The body of Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, was found in a drain near Summanahalli on June 9. He was reportedly tortured to death by the actor and his aides over some social media comments on Pavithra Gowda's Instagram posts.
Darshan Fan Murder Case: Another Kannada Actor Arrested
Earlier, the Bengaluru police arrested one more Kannada actor, Pradosh in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Renukaswamy. Pradosh has appeared in side roles in Darshan Thoogudeepa's movies and was among the three newest arrests in the case.

The police also arrested two more accused - Nagaraj and Ravi. Nagraj responsible for managing Darshan's affairs and handling his Mysuru farm, was evading arrest since the investigation revealed Thoogudeepa's role behind Renukaswamy's murder.
Ravi, the driver who transported Renukaswamy from Chitradurga to Bengaluru, a distance of approximately 200 kilometres, had been on the run until he surrendered to the Chitradurga police.
Darshan Fan Murder Case: Overview
Renuka Swamy was kidnapped, tortured, and killed in Bengaluru over an alleged derogatory Instagram message to actor Pavithra Gowda. Four people initially confessed to misleading the police on behalf of Darshan, the second accused. Pavithra is the prime suspect, with both in custody until June 17. Earlier, the Karnataka Home Minister dismissed claims of special treatment for Darshan.
