This recent incident has reignited concerns regarding the safety and security of Salman Khan, especially in light of past threats directed towards the actor. Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that Salman Khan was among the top targets on a list compiled by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Bishnoi cited an incident from 1998 involving the actor's alleged hunting of a black buck, which he deemed offensive to the Bishnoi community.
Bishnoi further revealed that one of his associates, Sampat Nehra, had conducted surveillance of Salman Khan's Bandra residence, laying the groundwork for a potential attack. However, Nehra was apprehended by the Special Task Force of Haryana Police before any harm could be inflicted.
In response to the perceived threat, Mumbai Police heightened Salman Khan's security status to Y+ following a threatening phone call received on April 11 of the previous year.
Reacting to the firing incident outside the house of Salman Khan, Siv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey criticised the administration led by Eknath Shinde, expressing concern over the lack of security and law enforcement in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
"Whether it is Salman Khan or any common man, no one is feeling safe in Mumbai and Maharashtra. What kind of law and order is this? Home Minister, Chief Minister, where are you? Criminals are roaming around fearlessly. The Chief Minister and Home Minister should take cognizance of this incident," Anand Dubey said.
