A Saudi Arabia Airlines flight with 250 people on-board, including Hajj pilgrims, landed safely at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, after suffering a technical snag mid-air on Sunday morning. Smoke and sparks were coming out of the left wheel of the flight when it arrived at the airport. The plane has not been damaged.

The wheel developed a fault likely due to a leak in the hydraulic system. The Airbus A330-343 left Jeddah at 10:45 pm and reached Lucknow at 6:30 am on Sunday, according to data from Flightradar24, NDTV reported.

In another news, a Lufthansa flight Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner bound for Hyderabad was forced to make a U-turn and return to Frankfurt Airport on Sunday evening after reportedly being denied permission to land in India after a bomb threat aleart, according to ANI. The Hyderabad-bound flight, LH752, departed from Germany at around 14:14 local time and was scheduled to arrive at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport early Monday. However, flight tracker data showed that the flight diverted mid-flight just a few hours into its journey.

A bomb threat email targeting Lufthansa flight LH 752 was received at Hyderabad Airport at 6:01 PM on June 15, 2025. A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was convened, and all procedures were followed as per the standard operating protocol (SOP). In the interest of safety, the airline was advised to divert to the origin or the nearest suitable airport, official sources said, according to ANI.

Lufthansa Airlines told ANI, "We did not receive a permit to land in Hyderabad and that’s why the aircraft took a u-turn and returned."

The aircraft remained in the air for approximately two hours before making the U-turn, according to passengers on board. One passenger told PTI from Frankfurt Airport that Lufthansa was providing overnight accommodation, as the flight had been rescheduled for Monday morning.
