A devastating road accident occurred on Saturday evening near Nerwa in Shimla district, claiming two lives and leaving a 10-year-old child missing. A Scorpio vehicle with Punjab registration numbers plunged into the Shalvi River on the Nerwa-Fediz bridge road, approximately 15 km from Nerwa.

The incident happened when a Scorpio vehicle with Punjab registration numbers plunged into the Shalvi River, approximately 80-100 meters below the road, near Tandori and Bathal, around 15 km from Nerwa.

According to reports, the vehicle was carrying four adults and a boy between the age of 8-10 years and the occupants were attending a satsang in Nerwa when the accident occurred. The deceased have been identified as:

1. Kumar Suchit, resident of Tehsil Nerwa, District Shimla
2. Gurmel Lal, resident of District Nawanshahr, Punjab

The injured individuals are:

1. Balwinder (35), wife of Harbans Lal, village Barmajra, Nawanshahr, Punjab
2. Keshav Kumar (32), son of Narendra Kumar, village Banga, Nawanshahr, Punjab

The child, Balwinder's 10-year-old son, is feared to have been swept away by the strong river current. A search operation is underway, with police and local authorities scouring both sides of the river. However, the high water level is hindering efforts to locate the child.

The police station in-charge, along with his team and locals, are actively involved in the search operation. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
