Sikkim Cloudburst: Flash floods hit Sikkim On Wednesday following a cloudburst in the area of Singtam. The cloud burst took place over Lhonak Lake. As many as 23 army personnel have been reported missing and some vehicles are reportedly submerged under the slush.
Some army establishments along the valley have also been affected and efforts are underway to confirm details.

According to Defense PRO, Guwahati, search operations are underway.

Defense PRO said, "Release of water from the Chungthang dam led to a sudden increase in water level upto 15-20 feet high downstream. This has led to Army vehicles parked at Bardang near Singtam getting affected."
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang took stock of the situation.
BJP state president Dr Thapa also took stock of the situation and said, "Several properties have been damaged. I request all institutions to support Sikkim. I took stock of the situation in the morning and will do it again."
