Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: Sonam Raghuvanshi had warned her family of "consequences" when they disapproved of her relationship with Raj Kushwaha and were forcing her to marry Raja Raghwanshi. Raja and his wife Sonam went missing while vacationing in Meghalaya's Sohra area on May 23. Raja's body was found in a gorge at Sohrarim near Cherrapunji on June 2. Sonam was located at a Dhaba in Gazipur on Monday, from where UP Police took her into custody. She was then handed over to Meghalaya Police.

Raja’s elder brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi told police that Sonam had informed her mother about the affair with Raj Kushwaha, before her wedding, as per an NDTV report. Raj Kushwaha (20) who worked as an accountant at Sonam’s family’s business, was not rejected by the family as a match.
