Swine Flu In India: Amid rising cases of swine flu in Chhattisgarh, a death was reported in Durg, taking the district’s toll to four. The deceased was identified as a resident of the Chouhan Green Valley Housing Society in Bhilai, who passed away on Tuesday.
In the past 22 days, Durg has witnessed a concerning surge in swine flu cases, with a total of 23 confirmed infections reported. Among these cases, 13 patients are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in Durg and Raipur. Six people have recovered so far while four died.
In response to the escalating health crisis, Durg Collector Richa Prakash Choudhary has issued an advisory to all local hospitals. This measure aims to enhance the management and containment of the H1N1 virus, ensuring the community's safety and effective handling of the outbreak.
To combat the spread of swine flu, health authorities have reserved 10 beds in the District Hospital as well as 30 beds in Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College in Durg.
Amid a surge in swine flu cases, Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that authorities are taking measures to curb the outbreak. Jaiswal earlier said that 12 people have died in the state due to swine flu, as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.
"We are trying to find out how many people have been infected with swine flu so far. We have enough equipment to increase the scope of the investigation. If any untoward situation arises, we will have our hands full to deal with it. The entire team of doctors is ready,” the health minister said.
