Police deboarded approximately 100 farmers at Narmadapuram railway station who were en route to Delhi to hold a protest regarding their demands on Tuesday evening. During the operation, the railway station was transformed into a fortress due to heavy security deployment. These farmers were traveling on the Chennai-Delhi Grand Trunk (GT) Express under the banner of the National South Indian River Interlinking Farmers Association.

Farmers Stage Semi-Naked Protest

In protest against being forcibly deboarded from the train, the farmers created a commotion at the railway station and staged a semi-naked demonstration. They also shouted loud slogans in Tamil. The group of protesting farmers included men, the elderly, and women. Following their removal, the administration is now making arrangements to send them back. Currently, arrangements for the farmers' meals are being made at a private garden in the city.
