Days after the father claimed that his six-month-old baby could have been killed by his wife and her lesbian partner, as he discovered secret chats between them, the police arrested the baby's mother and her lesbian partner.
The case is rooted in the sudden death of a six-month-old baby while being breastfed earlier this month in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district. The police filed a complaint and exhumed the body of the baby after the father raised suspicions of murder

The police had registered a case of unnatural death and did not carry out a post-mortem. The child was later buried on the family's agricultural land.
The child's body was exhumed on Friday after the father approached the police as he discovered explicit messages, photos, and videos that revealed the illicit relationship between his wife and another woman. The father told investigators that his child may have been harmed due to pressure over their relationship.

After the body was sent for a post-mortem, investigators said that the baby was smothered and strangled.
The accused mother, during the interrogation, said that she did not want her husband's child and that her husband did not take care of her. An NDTV report quoted a senior official as saying that the law would take its course if the baby was murdered.
