Chennai News: Three women, including a mother and daughter, lost their lives in two separate wall collapse incidents in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore and Kallakurichi districts on Wednesday, as heavy rainfall continued to batter the region.
The first incident occurred at Andarmullipallam near Puduchatram in Cuddalore district, where a portion of a house wall gave way around 10 AM, crushing two women inside. The victims were identified as Ashothai, 69 and her daughter, Jaya, 40. Both worked as farm labourers. Police said the wall had weakened after continuous overnight rain and caved in while the women were at home. Their bodies were later sent to Parangipettai General Hospital for post-mortem examination, as per The Hindu report.
