Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that while the coastal regions are expected to experience heavy rainfall, other regions are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall till July 17. Apart from rainfall, these regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The rainfall is also likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has also advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several regions of the state, including Western Ghats, Puducherry, Karaikal, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruvenelveli, Theni, and Thenkashi, are likely to receive rainfall for the next few days. It further stated that Chennai is also likely to witness light rainfall along with cloudy skies till July 17. However, it clarified that the temperature of the capital is not expected to change significantly.
