Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that while the coastal regions are likely to receive heavy rainfall, the other parts are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall. The rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that several regions, including Western Ghats, Puducherry, Karaikal, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruvenelveli, Theni, and Thenkashi, will be affected until July 13. The IMD stated that apart from the rainfall, these regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds. The weather department stated that the capital city, Chennai, is also likely to receive light rain in the upcoming few days. However, it also clarified that the temperature is not likely to significantly change for the next few days.
