Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several regions of Tamil Nadu are set to witness light to moderate rainfall in the upcoming days. While providing details, the weather department stated that a cyclonic circulation prevailing over the Gulf of Mannar would lead to the rain. Along with rainfall, these regions are also set to receive thunderstorms and strong surface winds. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the IMD stated that the cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining regions will lead to rainfall in several regions, including the Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts. The continuous rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in the rural regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters. While the rainfall will reduce the temperature temporarily, the heat will increase from the second week of February.

The weather department has clarified that the other parts of Tamil Nadu will continue to witness dry conditions for the next few days. The residents of capital city Chennai are not likely to witness rainfall in the upcoming days, the IMD asserted. However, the city is likely to witness cloudy skies and a gentle breeze, especially in the early hours.

While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 35 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 25 degrees Celsius. The weather department has asserted that minimum temperatures across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal may gradually increase in the upcoming days.

The officials confirmed that the coastal regions are not likely to witness rainfall, adding that no alert has been issued for the fishermen. Along with Tamil Nadu, several parts of Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana are also set to witness rain due to the weather change.
