Bengaluru News: Amid several cases of taxi frauds in Bengaluru, a woman had to pay Rs 3,000 for a ride that was supposed to be of just Rs 450. Apart from this, she was made to pay for the fuel of the vehicle and toll but still didn't reach her destination. She shared her "terrifying" experience on the social media platform Reddit upon safely reaching her PG.

While sharing her experience, the woman described that initially she had a plan of taking public transport to her PG but changed her plan as she got approached by a "friendly" cab driver. He promised to drop her at the location for Rs 450. Though the woman initially hesitated, she agreed to take the cab as it was already 10.30 pm.

“While walking to the bus stand at the airport, a friendly man approached me, offering to drop me directly at my PG for just Rs 450. I was sceptical, but he explained that he was in a hurry to drop his friend and head home to KR Puram, which was close to my PG. He even showed me an app with his ride history and assured me this was common," she stated in a post on Reddit.

However, she was taken aback as another person came to pick her and the person who approached her in the first place. Though they were friendly in the first few minutes, they started to behave abruptly as they took a quiet route. They even started smoking inside the car, played loud music, and abused each other on the way.

“Another guy showed up with a car, and the first man sat in the front seat. Shortly after the ride, they asked me to pay the toll fee of Rs 200. I noticed they took a quiet route that felt scary. They tried to keep things friendly, talking in Hindi, and asking about where I was from, and what I did for work. But then they started blasting loud music, shouting along and abusing other vehicles on the road," the woman added.

They later dropped her at some unknown location and stated that another cab driver would drop her at the location. They even got aggressive as she protested and asked to refund the amount that she spent on the way. However, she agreed to take the cab as it was late at night, and that seemed the best option at the time.

She clarified that the second cab driver seemed genuine and dropped her off politely. However, she had to pay the amount again as it was not a prepaid ride. “This was terrifying, and I feel lucky to have gotten out unharmed," the woman concluded.
