Thiruvananthapuram: KMRL To Build Flyovers At Sreekaryam, Ulloor and Pattom
As part of the preparatory work, KMRL has also been assigned the construction of flyovers at Sreekaryam, Ulloor and Pattom, aimed at easing traffic congestion along the proposed metro route. Officials confirmed that construction of the Sreekaryam flyover is progressing at a rapid pace.
Authorities said the metro will play a pivotal role in transforming Thiruvananthapuram into a modern, well-connected city, boosting economic growth and supporting sustainable urban development in the years ahead.
In separate news, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticised the Southern Railway after a group of students allegedly sang an RSS-related song during the inauguration of the Ernakulam–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express on Saturday. Vijayan termed the act a “serious violation of constitutional values,” questioning why a government institution would include such a song at an official event. He also condemned the decision to post the video on social media, accusing the Railways of promoting communal ideology. Following public backlash, the Southern Railway reportedly deleted the post. Vijayan said the Railways, once a secular national symbol, is being misused for political motives.
