Priya Seth Story: A home in a small village in Rajasthan’s Alwar district is involved in prepration of a one-of-a-kind wedding, where the couple seem perfect but not ordinary. 34-year-old Priya Seth, a life-term convict in a chilling murder case, is all set to tie the knot with another life-term convict, Hanuman Prasad.
Priya remained at the centre of one of Jaipur’s most chilling crimes- the Tinder suitcase murder. She is currently out of jail on a 15-day parole to marry a fellow life-term convict, Hanuman Prasad. Priya fell in love with Hanuman inside Rajasthan’s Sanganer open jail.
Their wedding has refreshed the uneasy memory of the horrific crime that had sent chills through the nation- the Tinder suitcase murder.
What Is Tinder Suitecase Murder Case
- 27-year-old aspiring Businessman Dushyant Sharma matched with Priya Seth on Tinder in 2018. In weeks-long conversations, they discussed love, life, ambitions, and dreams. While Dushyant believed he had found his love, Priya was not thinking similarly, but was evil.
- Priya, with her partner Dikshant Kamra, planned to find a target for kidnapping-for-ransom as they were under Rs 21 lakh in debt. Dushyant, who posed online as a wealthy businessman, seemed like the perfect target.
- Dushyant went to Priya’s rented flat in Jaipur after she invited him, but he never walked out. As soon as Dushyant entered her flat, he was overpowered and held captive.
- Along with his accomplice, Lakshya Walia, the three men demanded Rs 10 lakh from Dushyant’s family and called his father.
-"Papa, they will kill me. Please give them Rs 10 lakh," Dushyant pleaded in fear. His family rushed to arrange money but could only manage Rs 3 lakh. They transferred the amount, but it was not enough to satisfy the kidnappers. Afraid that Dushyant might expose them and refusing to release him, the accused decided to kill him.
- What happened next was brutal. They strangled Dushyant, pressed a pillow over his face to smother him, and when he still showed signs of life, they stabbed him multiple times and slit his throat.
- They stuffed Dushyant’s body in a suitcase and dumped it in a village on Jaipur’s outskirts. When the suitcase was discovered days later, the gruesome scene stunned the nation.
‘He Said He was Rich So We Kidnapped’: Priya
“He lied about his identity. He said he was rich. We needed money. So we planned to kidnap and kill,” Priya told investigators after she was arrested. Describing the murder as cold-blooded, premeditated, and brutal, a Jaipur court sentenced her and her accomplices to life imprisonment in 2023.
She was later transferred to Sanganer open jail, part of Rajasthan’s prison reform system, where selected inmates live in less restrictive conditions and work during the day.

The wedding of Priya Seth and Hanuman Prasad, which is scheduled today, January 24, has sparked public debate. Some find it a second chance at life, while others see this as a painful reminder of the horrific murder of Dushyant’s family.
