The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory on Saturday, warning of heavy vehicular movement on certain roads ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday, January 5.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to launch various development projects, including the inauguration of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat RRTS corridor, estimated to be worth over Rs 12,200 crore. He will also address a public meeting in Delhi on the same day.
In connection with PM Modi’s visit, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory to ensure convenience, smooth traffic flow, and to minimise discomfort for the general public. Traffic restrictions will be in place from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm in the following areas:

- Ghazipur Road (Kondli to Noida Link Road)
- New Ashok Nagar Metro Station Road (Sarpanch Chowk to Holiday Inn Red Light)
- Ghazipur Nala Road (Kondli to New Ashok Nagar Metro Station)
- Chilla Border to New Ashok Nagar Metro Station
- Noida Link Road (Chilla Border to Akshardham Mandir)
Residents traveling via Ghazipur Road, New Ashok Nagar Metro Station Road, and Noida Link Road are advised to allow extra time for their journeys to avoid delays caused by heavy traffic.
The advisory also urged motorists and the general public to remain patient, follow traffic rules, and adhere to the instructions of traffic personnel deployed at key intersections during the inauguration event.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate a 13-km stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar, worth approximately Rs 4,600 crore. This will mark Delhi’s first Namo Bharat connectivity.
Additionally, he will inaugurate a 2.8-km stretch between Janakpuri and Krishna Park as part of Delhi Metro Phase-IV, valued at around Rs 1,200 crore. This segment will serve as the first operational stretch of Delhi Metro Phase-IV.

Among other milestones, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the 26.5-km Rithala-Kundli section of Delhi Metro Phase-IV, estimated at Rs 6,230 crore. This corridor will connect Rithala in Delhi to Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana, significantly improving connectivity in the northwestern parts of Delhi and Haryana.
Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art building for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) at Rohini, New Delhi. As per an official statement, he is also expected to travel on the Namo Bharat train between Sahibabad RRTS Station and New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station.
