  1. Man performed puja with fire inside moving AC train.
  2. Incense sticks and oil lamp posed fire safety risk.
  3. Netizens demanded strict action for endangering passengers.

In a bizarre incident, a man was seen performing puja inside an air-conditioned train, raising safety concerns for the fellow passengers. The individual was captured lighting incense sticks and an oil lamp at the upper berth of the train. While one of the passengers was confronting him, he paid no attention to it and continued with the rituals.

Asked If There's A Pandit

The video shared on X showed a man wearing a vest and what seemed like a dhoti, sitting upright with his hands folded and praying. He had lit incense sticks and an oil lamp (diya) as he prayed inside the compartment. The man filming the video confronted him by repeatedly calling him “Pandit ji," but the latter did not even turn once to answer him.

A few moments later, the man asked other people who were sitting in the same coach if the priest was travelling with them; they denied it. The fellow passenger again called him, who was immersed in his prayer, and cautioned him that the smoke from the incense sticks could trigger the train’s fire alarm system. Also, the open flame from the oil lamp could lead to an accidental fire in the enclosed area.

How Did The Netizens React?

The video quickly gained widespread attention on social media, sparking safety concerns for passengers. Netizens stressed that while everyone is free to practice their faith, rituals involving fire should not be carried out inside public transport where hundreds of people are traveling.

Reacting to the video, a user said, "@RailMinIndia, please look into this matter with utmost priority... He must be punished asap." A second user commented, “What kind of lol is this, man? He is burning a lamp inside the rail coach? If any burning case occurs, then who will be responsible for this?"

“This is dangerous. You should have sent this to railway authorities. He should be banned from rail travel,” someone said. A fourth said, “He should be both fined and jailed.”
