Train Viral Video: A video featuring a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) performing CPR on a 70-year-old passenger has gone viral, drawing both praise and criticism. The incident took place on the Amrapali Express (train number 15708) in the general coach, where the elderly passenger suddenly required urgent medical attention.
In the video shared by the Ministry of Railways, the TTE can be seen administering CPR to the conscious passenger. His immediate actions were credited with stabilising the individual, who was later taken to a hospital from the Chhapra railway station in Bihar.

The Ministry of Railways shared the incident video in a post, stating, "TTE's promptness gave ‘life’. While travelling in the general coach of train number 15708 ‘Amrapali Express’, a 70-year-old passenger suffered a heart attack. The TTE immediately gave CPR and saved the life of the passenger."

However, the video has sparked a heated debate online. Many users have praised the TTE's quick thinking, while medical experts have raised concerns about the appropriateness of administering CPR to a conscious person. CPR is generally advised only for individuals who are unresponsive or not breathing.
Doctors have described the video as "misleading," warning that it could negatively influence public understanding of CPR techniques. One medical professional stated, "Don’t give CPR to awake patients. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation is not required in this case, along with faulty compressions. If you want to create awareness, delete this video and push for mandatory CPR training in schools and colleges."
Another doctor echoed this sentiment, stating, "Performing CPR on a conscious patient is dangerous and wrong. This is serious. Please remove this video to prevent misinformation that could cost lives."
In response to the incident, activist Dr Vishnu Rajgadia has filed a Right to Information (RTI) application, requesting details about the TTE's medical training and any investigations conducted by the Railways regarding the incident.
