- CBI recreated Twisha Sharma's death scene in Bhopal.
- Accused Samarth Singh, Giribala Singh present during recreation.
- 80 kg mannequin, belt used to simulate incident.
In a major development in the Twisha Sharma’s death case, the CBI on Monday recreated the death scene to inspect each angle of the case closely. To recreate the scene, the CBI took the accused Samarth Singh along with his mother, former judge Giribala Singh, to Twisha’s marital home, where she was found dead, in Bhopal.
The CBI carried an 80 kg mannequin, roughly approximating Twisha's weight, a noose and the belt purportedly used in the hanging as it reconstructed how Twisha was brought down. A team, including a woman officer from the CBI, conducted a detailed survey of the house, questioned eyewitnesses present on May 12 and other house members and relatives, including Samarth's elder brother.

The Incident From Husband’s Angle
During interrogations, Samarth Singh has told investigators that during the incident, he removed Twisha from the noose while Giribala Singh allegedly untied the knot around her neck.
The CBI recreated the scene to understand how Twisha was brought down. Security arrangements were also heightened around the property.
Twisha Sharma met Samarth Singh on a dating app in December 2024, and the two got married in 2025. Five months later, on May 12, she was found hanging at her in-laws' residence in Katara Hills of Bhopal.
The FIR stated that her husband, Samarth, brought Twisha to AIIMS, Bhopal, as she had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house at 10.20 pm. Doctors at AIIMS told the police at 12:05 am on May 13 that she was brought dead to the hospital and registered a PMLC, the FIR stated.
The post-mortem report mentioned the cause of death as 'antemortem hanging by ligature' and also found that there were 'multiple antemortem injuries (simple in nature, possible by blunt force over other parts of the body have been noted).
After the receipt of the post-mortem report and statement of the family members of Twisha, a former actor-model, the FIR was registered by the police on May 15.
What Did Twisha's Family Allege?
Following Twisha’s death, her parents alleged dowry harassment and raised doubts on the suspicious death, and hence demanded an independent probe into the death case, after which it was handed over to CBI by the Apex court. The family alleged that her in-laws were not satisfied with the dowry paid during the wedding on December 9, 2025.
Earlier, an extensive forensic examination was also done by the agency along with an expert team from Delhi at the Katara Hills residence of her in-laws, where the investigation team spent several hours gathering evidence. During the examination, Samarth Singh was questioned by the interrogators about Twisha’s death and the incident.
Last week, the CBI arrested former district judge Giribala Singh a day after the Madhya Pradesh High Court set aside her anticipatory bail. Officials have indicated that they plan to confront the mother-son duo with each other's statements as they attempt to establish the sequence of events that culminated in Twisha's death.
Both Giribala and Samarth have been granted CBI custody till June 2. During the investigation, the CBI is interrogating them with various sets of questions, ranging from injury marks on Twisha's body to CCTV footage, WhatsApp chat history, family matters, allegations of harassment, and more.
