Ahead of Muharram, a major controversy has taken place in the Badnagar area of Ujjain after a video surfaced online showing a Tata Magic van being hoisted approximately 40 feet into the air by a crane and blown up during a Muharram procession. The vehicle prominently displayed the phrase, "Le phir aa gaye" ("Look, we have returned").

The incident took place on June 23 night during a large procession in the Adan Mohalla locality of Badnagar, which was attended by thousands of people.

Before the vehicle was blown up, two men with their faces covered were seen standing on its roof, waving red flags. The crane then lifted the van around 40 feet above the crowd before a controlled explosion destroyed it mid-air.

The explosion, referred to by some as the "Muharram Julus Car Blast," was triggered while the van was suspended about 40 feet above the ground.

The phrase "Le phir aa gaye" ("Look, we have returned") was written on the van. A video of the incident, posted by an Instagram account under the handle "Parvez Edits 2.0," has garnered millions of views. The account reportedly features similar videos.

The video showing the explosion has drawn sharp criticism from several groups. Swami Shivanand Giri, a saint from Haridwar, publicly condemned the act on social media. He stated that the incident appeared to convey a message that "we will blow up the vehicles of infidels (kafirs) in the same way."

Meanwhile, Ritesh Maheshwari of the Hindu Jagran Manch demanded immediate clarification from local authorities on whether the organisers had obtained official administrative permission to carry out an explosion above a crowded public gathering.

Police said that an investigation is underway and that the organisers are being questioned. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.

An FIR has been registered in connection with the incident. Four individuals have been named as accused, including organizer Shoaib Khan. Cases have also been registered against Zahid Khan and Taslim, who were seen waving flags from the top of the van. Along with this, the van owner has also named as on of the accused.
