A 70-year-old man reportedly died due to a heart attack while waiting in the queue for a domestic cylinder on Friday. The incident took place in UP’s Farrukhabad amid the shortage of LPG cylinders in the nation due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The deceased, identified as Mukhtiyar Ahmed, was an embroidery worker and a resident of the Garhi Khan Khana area. As per an Indian Express report, the victim’s family include his wife and seven children, including five daughters.
People present at the spot tried to revive the elderly man by performing CPR and chest compressions, but he was declared dead after being taken to a nearby hospital.
The incident comes after a similar incident took place in Barnala’s Sehna village, where a 66-year-old man, identified as Bhushan Kumar Mittal, died after collapsing while standing in the queue for a domestic cylinder on Friday morning.
The LPG shortage has created panic among residents in the nation. The situation has increased panic booking and long queues at gas agencies. The Indian government on Friday said that there is no shortage of oil in the country and that Domestic LPG production has been increased by 30 pc vis-a-vis March 5, ensuring uninterrupted supply to households.
