The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Lucknow, has issued a weather bulletin, continuing the heatwave and hot weather conditions across Uttar Pradesh in the coming days.

Most of the parts in the state are expected to observe hot and dry weather conditions. Heat wave conditions are expected in many places between May 25 and 27, though it will depend upon local conditions and vary regionally in degree across the state. Some places are expected to observe high temperatures.

According to the Officials, heatwave conditions are likely to continue in some parts of East and West Uttar Pradesh during the beginning of the forecast period, gradually decreasing in intensity in isolated pockets by the end of the month.

Hot temperatures and warm nights may continue in many districts as well, due to which residents will face heat stress conditions in the days ahead, according to IMD.

According to the bulletin:

-Heatwave conditions at many places during May 25-27

-Very hot temperatures in several places

-Gradual decrease in intensity over isolated places after May 28

Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions while experiencing severe heat conditions, such as:

-Avoid going out during noon.

-Stay hydrated and drink more water and electrolyte beverages.

-Wear light cotton dresses and keep your head protected from the sun.

-Keep infants and the elderly at home.

Officials warned that during excessive heat, heat exhaustion or heatstroke may also occur, and medical assistance should be sought immediately.

Heatstroke Symptoms and First Aid

Symptoms:

-Extremely high body temperature

-Confused or unable to wake up

-Hot, dry skin

-Problem with breathing

First Aid:

-Bring the victim into a cool, shady place immediately.

-Cool the victim with cold water.

-Make the dress loose around the neck.

-Get professional medical attention right away.

-Don't make the victim drink water if they are unconscious.
