A minor girl was placed in a detention home and her parents were arrested after she posted an Instagram reel containing derogatory comments about Hindu deities, allegedly to gain more followers.

The one-minute video, uploaded on October 27, featured the girl making offensive statements against Hindu Gods. It quickly went viral, sparking outrage online and prompting Hindu organisations to protest and file a police complaint against the girl and her family.

Following the complaint, authorities took the girl into custody and arrested her parents for being aware of the video but choosing to hide it. NDTV reported that another individual linked to the case is also wanted by police and is currently absconding.
