UP Weather Update: The residents of Uttar Pradesh have been experiencing record-breaking heat for the past few days. As per the advisory issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state is likely to witness similar weather conditions for the next few days. The temperature is expected to remain around 42 degrees Celsius in most of the districts, leading to inconveniences. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

However, the weather department clarified that a new western disturbance is likely to get active on May 28, leading to rainfall in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Along with rain, the residents are also expected to witness thunderstorms and strong surface winds. The rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius.

The IMD stated that the state will continue to witness rainfall at least till May 31. While the change in weather will provide relief from scorching heat, it will lead to waterlogging in the lower regions. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to inconveniences to the farmers and the daily commuters.

Earlier on Monday, the weather department issued a red alert for heatwave in several districts, including Banda, Chitrakoot, and Prayagraj. It stated that the temperature in these districts is likely to remain around 45 degrees Celsius, adding that the residents are likely to witness severe to extremely severe heatwaves during the day.

In several other districts, including Jhansi, Hamirpur, Agra, and Varanasi, the nights are also expected remain exceptionally hot. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and stay updated to avoid inconveniences.

As per the IMD, several northern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan, are likely to witness a heatwave for the next few days. The maximum temperature in all these regions is likely to be calculated at around 45 degrees Celsius.
