In Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district, a woman named Mehar Jahan was arrested for allegedly harassing her husband Mannan Zaidi mentally and physically in their home. According to the victim's complaint filed at the Syohara police station, Jahan tied Zaidi to the bed and burned his body parts with a cigarette after mixing intoxicating substances in his milk.
CCTV footage accessed by the police reportedly shows Jahan smoking next to her tied-up husband on the bed. Zaidi, aged 35, married Jahan in November last year, and they started living separately from his family at her insistence. However, Zaidi later discovered that his wife was an alcoholic and smoker. When he objected to her behavior, she allegedly threatened to kill him.
