Nainital News: An extremely concerning incident surfaced in the Nainital area of Uttarakhand, where a 16-year-old girl in Class 9 gave birth to a child. The teen was admitted to Sushila Tiwari Hospital after claiming to have stomach pain. Authorities and the local community were shocked by the case's circumstances, even though the newborn is said to be in good health.

The family has not yet lodged an official police complaint, and the teen's father fled after the birth. Authorities moved quickly to record a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act after the hospital informed the police about the minor's condition. Investigations are currently underway.

The teenager's mother took her to the hospital on Wednesday, December 18, after she complained of severe stomach pain. The hospital examined her and found she was pregnant. The teen gave birth to the baby girl after being admitted. However, medical officials didn't realise the young mother was just 16 years old, unmarried, and a juvenile until they asked for her Aadhaar card and other documentation.

Both the teenage mother and her mother kept silent despite hospital officials' attempts to gather additional information. After being alerted, the police showed up at the hospital to conduct additional investigation. The family, however, declined to assist, and the father of the teenager is still missing.

Although the family has not filed a formal complaint, Station Officer Vijay Mehta revealed that the police had filed a formal report under the POCSO Act due to the nature of the circumstance. The probe will be led by female Sub-Inspector Deepa Joshi. The infant is still being monitored in Sushila Tiwari Hospital's NICU.
