At least 14 people were killed and 10 were injured in heavy overnight rains that led to flooding and a house collapse as several rivers were overflowing in Uttarakhand, said officials on Thursday. The Kedarnath Yatra was also suspended amid extreme weather conditions. The trek route remains blocked by boulders at Ghoraparav, Lincholi, Badi Lincholi, and Bhimbali, said officials on Thursday.

As many as 16 people are reported missing in the landslide caused by cloudburst and heavy rain on the Kedarnath footpath on Wednesday night. One thousand pilgrims are still stranded in Kedarnath Dham. To rescue the passengers stranded on the Shri Kedarnath Yatra route, SDRF Uttarakhand jawans carried out rescue operations till late at night and safely brought 450 passengers from the Munkatiya area to Sonprayag. The rescue operation will continue today as well.

Uttarakhand Weather Update: Severe Waterlogging In Colony Near Haridwar Bypass

Due to heavy rains, waterlogging occurred in Chaudhary Colony near Haridwar bypass. Here, even on Thursday, the streets remained like ponds. Additional Municipal Commissioner Bir Singh Budiyal inspected the area and got the drains opened at many places. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar also reached the spot in the morning and got slabs laid in the colony with the help of three JCBs. He also gave instructions from the construction of drains to cleaning.
