Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami hailed the efforts of all people involved in the rescue process of 41 workers who got trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel after a portion of it collapsed on November 12.

CM Dhami also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous supervision of the entire operation.
Talking to the media, CM Dhami said, “ I want to thank all persons involved in the rescue process. PM Modi used to enquire about the operation every day. He assigned me the responsibility to evacuate the workers at any cost. It couldn’t have been possible without his support. He recently spoke to me and said the medical check-ups of all the workers should be done and requisite arrangements for their travel to their respective houses should be made.”

Talking about the well-being of the workers, CM Dhami said they would be kept under medical supervision for monitoring, adding that no one was critical. “They(workers) all have come out from a different environment and condition so we will do as per the advice of the doctors. First, they will be kept under medical supervision, and their monitoring will be done. No one is critical," Dhami added.

PM Modi took to social media to express satisfaction after all persons were safely evacuated. “The success of the rescue operation of our labour brothers in Uttarkashi is making everyone emotional. I want to say to the friends who were trapped in the tunnel that your courage and patience are inspiring everyone. I wish you all well and good health. It is a matter of great satisfaction that after a long wait, these friends of ours will now meet their loved ones. The patience and courage that all these families have shown in this challenging time cannot be appreciated enough,” he wrote on X(formerly Twitter).

PM Modi also appreciated the efforts of people involved in the rescue operation of the workers. “I also salute the spirit of all the people associated with this rescue operation. His bravery and determination have given new life to our labour brothers. Everyone involved in this mission has set an amazing example of humanity and teamwork,” he added.
