Uttarkashi: A video from Uttarkashi’s Matli Bandarkot has gone viral on the internet, showing a woman thrashing a man with her slipper in public. As per reports, the man had allegedly misbehaved with the woman’s daughter, prompting her to confront and beat him.

In the viral video, the woman is seen repeatedly hitting the man with her footwear in public. Though the video is a few days old, it has recently gone viral, drawing widespread attention and sparking discussions on the internet.

The man reportedly works at a local tyre puncture shop. Following the incident, the man has reportedly been absconding. “Since the incident, the young man has been absconding, and his current whereabouts are unknown. We demand that the authorities take action and ensure he is caught,” NDTV quoted Sachendra Parmar, a member of a Hindu organisation, as saying.

Parmar further stated that several videos from Uttarkashi have recently gone viral, including content linked to alleged cases of “love jihad” and a prior incident involving a man accused of recording an indecent video of a woman.

Similar Incident In Uttar Pradesh In 2024

A similar incident came to light from Uttar Pradesh in 2024, where a woman publicly thrashed a man with her footwear for circulating doctored obscene photos of her daughter among prospective grooms.

The man had allegedly edited the woman’s photos into indecent content and shared them with prospective grooms, damaging her chances of marriage, NDTV reported.

Initially, the local panchayat tried to resolve the matter quietly, suggesting leniency to safeguard the man’s future. However, the girl’s mother insisted on punishing him herself, stating that she wouldn’t forgive him unless she got to hit him with her slippers. A panchayat member agreed to her condition, after which the man was thrashed in front of the community.
