Great news for railway passengers! The Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express (20631/20632) is set to get a new transition soon. The Central government has made a big decision for railway passengers. The Modi government has decided to replace the eight-coach Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru (20631/20632) Vande Bharat with a 20-coach express. With the major renovation, the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru Vande Bharat, which is now at 200 per cent capacity, would be able to accommodate more passengers.
Similary, It was recently stated that the eight-coach Vande Bharat train on the Tirunelveli-Chennai route will be replaced by the newly introduced 20-coach variant.
Kerala will receive a second Vande Bharat Express on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod route (20634). This high-tech updated train has approximately 16 carriages with a seating capacity of 1,016. Furthermore, it was recently recognised as the best-performing train among the 17 Vande Bharat Express services across the country, with 100% occupancy. The enhanced Vande Bharat trains will be grey-black-orange in colour, replacing the previous white-blue colour scheme of the new Vande Bharat trains.
Well, did you know India’s first 20-coach Vande Bharat was launched two months ago on the Varanasi-New Delhi route? According to sources, the railway government is also planning to launch 24-coach Vande Bharat Expresses.

Meanwhile, the Indian Railway Ministry plans to launch the Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi to Srinagar, most likely in January 2025. This journey will last all night and end in Srinagar in the morning. This train is said to depart New Delhi at 7 p.m. and journey overnight to reach Srinagar at 8 a.m. During the journey, the train may stop at stations such as Ambala, Ludhiana, Jammu, and Katra. It will also travel through the world's tallest railway bridge, built on the Chenab River. This bridge is estimated to be roughly 359 meters tall, higher than Paris' Eiffel Tower. This is the world's tallest railway bridge.
