The Raipur Central Jail has been grabbing attention for all the wrong reasons, sparking concerns about security and accountability after a video of an alleged druglord working out inside the prison went viral.
The video shows an alleged kingpin of a drug smuggling racket, Rashid Ali, alias Raja Baijhar, exercising inside the barak number 15 of Raipur central jail. The video is said to have been shot between October 13 and 15. The accused is on trial for running a drug network.

Social media was stunned to see selfies of Rashid Ali with other infamous criminals like Rohit Yadav and Rahul Valmiki. Users questioned the level of freedom inside the jail and raised security concerns.

An internal probe by the jail administration uncovered that Shashank Chopra, an undertrial prisoner, had smuggled a mobile phone into the facility.
Rashid Ali allegedly utilised this device to capture selfies with friends and record videos of their activities, including workouts, while two guards were on duty.
Later, the Central Jail's superintendent dismissed guards Radhelal Khunte and Bipin Khalkho for severe negligence, noting that both had received prior warnings. Besides, Assistant Jail Superintendent Sandeep Kashyap has also been suspended.

Who Is Druglord, Rashid Ali
Rashid Ali, who was arrested under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act and is accused of running a drug network, has been lodged in Raipur Central Jail since July 11. Ali is also accused of extorting money from inside the jail.
