Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra, said Hindus will forget all other things if their temples--Gyanvapi and Krishna Janmabhoomi-- are freed peacefully. "We do not even desire to look at the other temples if these temples are freed because we have to live in the future and not in the past. The country's future should be good and if we get these temples (Gyanvapi and Krishna Janmabhoomi) peacefully we will forget about all other things," Dev Giri Maharaj said on Sunday in Pune.

He asked the Muslim side to peacefully resolve the issue.

"I appeal with folded hands to free all these temples (Gyanvapi and Krishna Janmabhoomi) because these are the biggest scars of the attacks done by invaders. People are in pain, if they (the Muslim side) can heal this pain peacefully then it will help in increasing brotherhood" Dev Giri Maharaj told ANI.

This came days after a Varanasi Court allowed the Hindu side to offer prayers at ‘Vyas Ka Tehkhana' at the Gyanvapi Temple complex. The Muslim side reached the Allahabad High Court against the order but was denied any relief.

Worship began inside Gyanvapi premises after the court order. Security was beefed up in the area as authorities opened the cellar and created a barricaded way for the people to offer prayers. Varanasi DM S. Rajalingam and Commissioner Ashok Mutha were present at the Gyanvapi-Kashi Vishwanath Dham area. DM said they were complying with the court’s order.
