A shocking case of drunk driving in Vadodara’s Karelibag area left one woman dead and several others injured after a reckless driver lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles and pedestrians late Thursday night. The horrifying accident, caught on CCTV, has sparked outrage especially due to the driver’s bizarre reaction after the crash, NDTV reported.
The accident took place near Amrapali Chaar Rasta, a busy intersection in the city. According to NDTV, a black car speeding through the area suddenly lost control, slamming into a two-wheeler and hitting several bystanders. The impact killed a woman named Hemaliben Patel on the spot, while at least four others—including a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old child were seriously injured.
Emergency responders rushed the injured victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, what stunned witnesses even more was the driver’s disturbing behaviour after stepping out of his wrecked car. In a viral video, the man—dressed in a black T-shirt and visibly drunk was seen stumbling around and shouting, "Another round, another round!" He also kept chanting "Om Namah Shivay!" as bystanders watched in shock.

Authorities acted swiftly, and the driver was taken into custody. Leena Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, confirmed the arrest, stating, "A four-wheeler rammed into a two-wheeler, leading to the tragic death of a woman. The accused driver has been caught, and further investigation is underway. This is a clear case of drunk driving."
