Weather Update: The monsoon season remains a strong across India, with extensive rainfall forecasted for the coming week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rain on August 16, affecting several states, including Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Gangetic West Bengal and eastern Rajasthan.

In Delhi, light to moderate rain is expected to persist until August 17. Multiple cyclonic circulations are contributing to the anticipated rainfall, particularly in northwestern, central and eastern regions of the country.

Weather Update: Light To Moderate Rain Throughout Week In THESE States

The northwest, which includes Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, is likely to experience widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand can expect heavier showers until August 21.

Weather Update: Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh To see Hravy Rain Today

On August 16, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi may see isolated instances of heavy rainfall. Western Rajasthan is also under alert for heavy to very heavy downpours.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are likely to witness considerable light to moderate rainfall. Today, heavy rain is predicted in West Madhya Pradesh, with East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also facing potential heavy showers, including very heavy downpours in some areas.

Weather Update: Bengal Weather Forecast

In East India, including Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha, a mix of light to moderate rainfall is forecasted. Heavy rains are expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on designated days, with Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand on alert for particularly intense rainfall on August 16 and 17.

Conversely, Northeast India may see below-normal rainfall, with only isolated heavy showers expected in certain regions.
