The rains in Delhi NCR and several other states across the country have served as a massive breather for people amid the spells of severe heatwave. However, humidity has become another cause of concern for people after the rains. In some parts of the country, heavy rains have led to flood-like situations, disrupting the daily activities in the lives of the people. As many as 15 roads in several areas of Himachal Pradesh have been completely closed due to incessant rains.
Light to moderate rain forecasted in Delhi:
According to the IMD, Delhi is likely to witness a downpour today, which would lead to a drop in the temperature. The minimum temperature in the national capital could be around 25-26 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to be 35 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate rain is forecasted for the next five days.

Heavy rain alert in Maharashtra:
The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall on July 14 in the coastal districts of Raigad and Ratnagiri in western Maharashtra, as well as in Kolhapur and Satara. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued for Thane district and a yellow alert for Mumbai on Sunday.
Orange alert in Kerala:
Amid heavy rainfall in various areas of Kerala, the IMD has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for four districts, including Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Light rain with strong winds has also been forecasted for some parts of the Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts.
Floods In UP:
As many as 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh are reeling under a severe flood situation. Due to the overflowing of the Garra and Khannaut rivers, Shahjahanpur is facing difficulties, although the floodwaters have receded. Both rivers, however, are still above danger levels.

Many villagers were affected due to the overflow of the Baghul River in Bareilly. Three people, including two children, drowned in the river. In Pilibhit, one person also died due to drowning. The water has subsided in the district for two days, but in Dharchula, Uttarakhand, cloud bursts have caused mountain rivers to swell. If water is released from the Banbasa barrage, a flooding situation could arise again in the Sharda River in Pilibhit.
