India Weather News: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR, predicting heavy rain and strong winds that will bring relief from the sweltering heat. The rain is expected to start early in the morning and continue intermittently throughout the day. The IMD has also forecast rain on Monday, October 6, accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Weather News: Rainfall Expected in North India
The IMD has predicted rain in several states in North India, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Strong winds are also expected in these regions.

Tamil Nadu: Heavy Rain Warning
The IMD has issued a heavy rain warning for 14 districts in Tamil Nadu, citing active weather systems over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
Bihar: 19 Dead In Rain-Related Incidents
Heavy rainfall in Bihar has resulted in 19 deaths due to lightning strikes, collapsing buildings, and falling trees. The districts affected include Muzaffarpur, Jehanabad, Bettiah, Bhojpur, Vaishali, Nalanda, Gopalganj, Motihari, Kishanganj, Madhepura, and Khagaria.
Patna: Waterlogging In Several Areas
Patna experienced waterlogging in several areas, with 32.9 mm of rainfall recorded. The district administration has closed schools and anganwadi centres in several districts due to the heavy rain, Jagran.com reported.
Varanasi: 125-Year Record Broken
Varanasi received 187 mm of rainfall in 21 hours, breaking a 125-year record. The heavy rain caused flooding in several areas, disrupting daily life and damaging crops. Train services were also affected due to waterlogging on the railway tracks.
Uttar Pradesh: Rain To Continue
The IMD has predicted continued rain in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, citing a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. The weather department has advised people to stay indoors and avoid travelling unless necessary.
