Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow alert for heatwaves in Delhi-NCR and nearby states on Friday and Saturday. The weather department stated that Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 39.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, adding that it was two degrees more than the usual temperature. The officials further stated that the temperature in the national capital is likely to further rise by two to three degrees Celsius in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that the temperature is likely to reach between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius in the upcoming days.
“A gradual rise in temperature is expected in the plains. Westerly winds are expected and we will see clear skies, with the maximum possibly touching 42-43 degree celsius by Saturday,” an IMD official stated. The weather department further stated that multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh are also likely to witness a heatwave and significant rise in temperature in the upcoming few days. While providing details, it stated that the daytime temperature in several states has already crossed 40 degrees Celsius.
Uttar Pradesh Weather: Heatwave Alert In These Districts
The weather department issued a heatwave alert for multiple districts, including Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Rural, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur, and nearby regions.

Temperature To Rise In Pune
The IMD issued a yellow alert for a heatwave in Pune, adding that the temperature is likely to rise significantly in the upcoming few days. It that while the maximum temperature is likely to be recorded at 45 degrees Celsius, the average temperature is likely to remain around 40 degrees Celsius.
Apart from this, the southern states, including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, are also likely to witness light to heavy rainfall on Thursday and Friday. While Bengaluru residents are expected to experience clear skies with a gentle breeze on Thursday, the Silicon City is expected to receive light rain in the next few days.
