Weather Update: The southwest monsoon has brought heavy rains across the country this year. Along with this, it brought devastation to Himachal Pradesh and flood-like situations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
As the rainfall continues to lash the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for continued downpour for many states in the next three to four days.
According to the meteorological department, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rain in the next 3-4 days. The rainfall will bring the temperature down by two to four degrees Celsius.
How will the weather be in UP?
Talking about Uttar Pradesh, the water level of many rivers, including the Ganga and Yamuna, has increased due to torrential rains. This has given rise to flood-like situations in many areas. Many areas have been submerged due to floods in Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Mirzapur among other cities.
According to the weather department, light to moderate rains are expected in many districts of UP, including Banda, Chitrakoot, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Meerut and Aligarh till August 9.
Possibility of light rain in Delhi-NCR
The weather department has also issued a rain alert for the Delhi-NCR region. It said that there is a possibility of light rain in many areas of Delhi-NCR, including Laxmi Nagar, Patparganj, Anand Vihar, North Delhi, South Delhi, and West Delhi, which will provide relief from the heat.

How will the weather be in Bihar?
According to the weather department, there is a possibility of rain in Bihar throughout the week. An orange alert has been issued regarding rain and thunderstorms in many districts. There is a possibility of heavy rain in East and West Champaran, Siwan, Saran, Sitamarhi, Gopalganj, Araria, and Kishanganj.
