Weather Update: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperature variations have been observed across several regions of India. Many areas in East Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, North Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh and North Tamil Nadu have experienced a drop in maximum temperatures by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
In contrast, regions including Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Northwest Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, South Kerala, East Arunachal Pradesh, East Assam, Manipur and Mizoram have seen a rise in temperatures by the same margin.
Weather Forecasts: Heavy Rain To Persist In Bihar, Jharkhand, UP
Amid a heatwave affecting North India, recent widespread rainfall has provided some relief in various regions. The IMD forecasts that heavy rains will persist in Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Kerala and Assam in the coming days.
Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued For Assam, Meghalaya
The IMD has also issued alerts for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, which may reach speeds of 40-50 km/h, particularly in central India and the plains of Maharashtra on April 14. Additionally, a heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Assam and Meghalaya from April 14 to 16, as well as for Odisha on April 15 and 16. There is also a forecast of possible hailstorms in Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh on April 14 and 15.
Weather Forecasts: Rain For Next 5 Days In TN, Karnataka, Andhra
In the southern and eastern states, light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and winds of 30-40 km/h, is expected over the next five days. This includes areas in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
Weather Update: Ongoing Heatwave Conditions
While rainfall may bring relief to some, the heat remains a concern in other regions. The weather department has issued a heatwave alert for western Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat on April 14 and 15. Temperatures are expected to rise further, with Punjab and Haryana facing potential heatwave conditions from April 16 to 18 and eastern Rajasthan from April 16 to 19. A rise of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures is anticipated over the next five to six days in northwest India, while other areas of the country are not expected to experience significant temperature changes.
Delhi Weather Report
In the Delhi-NCR region, temperatures are on the rise once again after a brief period of cooler weather. On Sunday, the maximum temperature at Safdarjung reached 36.6 degrees Celsius, exceeding the normal range and higher than Saturday's reading of 35.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature also increased to 20.4 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal but higher than the previous day’s 19 degrees Celsius. The IMD forecasts intensifying heat over the next three days, leaving residents with no immediate respite.

Upcoming Heatwave Forecasts
Heatwave conditions are expected to affect various regions over the next week:
West Rajasthan: April 14-19, with severe conditions predicted from April 16 to 18.
Telangana: April 13-14
West Madhya Pradesh: April 15-19
Gujarat: April 15-17
Punjab and Haryana: April 16-18
East Rajasthan: April 16-19
Hot and humid conditions will also persist in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on April 13 and in Gujarat from April 15 to 17. Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions against the ongoing heat and potential thunderstorms.
